Turo's 2026 earnings plans for US hosts
For trips booked on or after January 7, 2026, US hosts choose one of three plans. The bigger your share of the trip price, the more you pay toward each damage claim.
- More peace of mind: you keep 70%, with $250 damage responsibility per claim
- Balanced: you keep 80%, with $1,500 damage responsibility per claim
- More earnings: you keep 90%, with $2,750 damage responsibility per claim
In the US your share also applies to Extras and delivery fees. Reimbursements for fuel, charging, tolls and tickets, and cleaning and smoking fees, are paid to you in full.
Markets where the share changes
In Austin, Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, Maui, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego and Seattle, Turo adjusts the host share by how far ahead a trip is booked: 65% to 80% on More peace of mind, 75% to 90% on Balanced and 85% to 100% on More earnings. Trips booked 28 or more days ahead earn the most.
Why depreciation counts
A car loses value every month you own it, and the miles guests drive speed that up. No bill arrives for it, so it's easy to miss, but it's real money you get back only when you sell. This calculator spreads the drop from what you paid to what you expect to sell for over the years you'll host the car. Cash profit before depreciation is what lands in your account; real profit is what's left once the car's lost value is counted.
What this calculator leaves out
Income tax and self-employment tax on your profit, extra mileage and late return fees, months the car sits unbooked for repairs, and the time you spend running it. Turo's plans don't cover loss of hosting income or a car's drop in value after damage. Plans, shares and coverage can change, so check Turo's own pages before choosing a plan.
